Thinking Styles among Technical Students in TVET: Differences in Thinking Styles by Students’ Demographic

A thinking style is the way an individual acquires, processes and organises information, as well forming ideas views, solving problems, making decisions articulating self-expression. Each has his or her own of in learning, even designing products. The purpose this study to analyse pattern Chua styles among technical students. total 351 students comprising Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Electrical at Sultan Abdul Halim Muad’zam Shah Polytechnic were randomly selected sample. design was a form survey using quantitative approach. Yan Piaw Creative-Critical Styles Test, developed by (2004), used research instrument. Data analysed SPSS software presented mean, frequency, percentage. findings show that dominant balanced style, with 166 respondents (47.3%). It followed critical 153 (43.6%) creative 32 (9.1%). However, none high style. also there no statistically significant difference gender, age, years field study. In general, it can be concluded are most inclined which have terms styles. As such, individual’s will impact on learning solve problems product design.
